CUP and the STOREFRONT FOR ART AND ARCHITECTURE present

BUILDING CODES

Do you think codes are important only to experts?

What do you think these experts look like?

.

On the occasion of 100 Years of the New Law, we will present the designing public with an exhibition
examining the historical, current, and possible future roles of codes in ordering the built environment This exhibition

undertaken in pursuit of the following qu^

1, What is the interface of administration and architecture? What does it look like?

2, How can we imagine the history of this interface and its codes?

3, Can we wrest abstraction from empirical documention?

4, How can we imagine administration as agency, and not just as Agency?

5, How dan basic, useful technical information be best communicated to a general audience?
